Welcome to the world of the “Friendly Ghosts”. Why this name for a bunch of cats? Simply because the cat that conquered my heart is called Casper the Friendly Ghost. Casper is everything one can wish for in a feline companion. The word friendly describes so well his overall character. Why Ghost? Casper’s colour is cream-silver which makes him look like a ghost at night.
I had cats all my life, but Casper‘s unique human-like personality made me fall in love with his breed. Soon after Casper, more Maine Coons followed joining our household. After years of showing my Maine Coons nationally and abroad, studying the breeds origins, health issues and standards, I decided to start my own small breeding program under the mentorship of Sharon Saville Archer of Ishcus Maine Coons who bred Ireland’s first IW (International Winner) cat Ishcus Harrison.
My philosophy is to breed cats that are healthy, have lovely temperaments and are true to the breed standard. Health and the happiness of my cats is my number one priority. All cats are regularly vet checked and tested for HCM, hip dysplasia, PKdef, PKD and SMA. My cats live freely with us in our house and cat-secure garden.
I am a Council member of the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy in Ireland and I am currently undergoing training to become a semi-longhair GCCFI judge. Friendly Ghosts is a TICA and GCCFI registered cattery. All cats are regularly exhibited at GCCFI and TICA shows to make sure we are breeding true to type.
I hope you enjoy browsing the following sites and get to know our cats and the garden we built for them. We do have very few litters per year, but if you are interested in a kitten, please do get in touch telling us a bit about yourself, what home you can provide and why you decided for a Maine Coon as a companion.

Sometimes he sits at your feet with an expression so gentle and caressing that the depth of his gaze startles you. Who can believe that there is no soul behind those luminous eyes!
